[解説文(1枚目)に「1.」「BANS RECITAL」「3'-05"」「Bans means a bamboo. Unlike a flute, the Bans is not of a normal length. It belongs to semi-tribal group of instruments. Crude in form and function, the instrument is akin to the 'Ayar Kuzhal' the cow-herd flute of South India. Usually longer in size (about 3 to 4 feet), the 'Bans' is used by Rawats, the cattle-grazers of the Chattisgarh area of Madhya Pradesh. / The peculiarity of playing on the 'Bans' lies in the fact that the player produces notes with his mouth which get magnified on passing through the instrument. The instrument is played direct either solo or used as an accompaniment to a ballad or a song. The song which has been rendered here on the Bans tells of a jungle situation: 'The tiger roars in the forest. On the hill hisses the black cobra. The bridegroom plays on his flute by a river side, while the fair girl catches fish'.」と記載。同資料に小泉教授の手書きによるメモ「[1.に]丸印」「ソロ」「低いクラリネットのような音」「[Bansに]囲み線」「[about 3 to 4 feetに]下線」「[Rawatに]囲み線」「[grazerに]×印[をして] grazer[に修正]」「[Madhya Pradeshに] 下線」「[that the player produces notes with his mouth which get magnified on passing through the instrument.に] 下線」「唇簧楽器?」「['The tiger roars in the forest.
